Residential Care
In Florida, an estimated 8,000 children are adopted every year, according to numbers from the National Council for Adoption. But, there are thousands more in foster care or wards of the state.
The Family Enrichment Center, Inc. manages residential group homes for teenage girls and boys. Operating 24 hours, seven days a week, the residential services are designed to help girls who have been adjudicated by the courts and who are unable to live in a traditional foster home setting. The "Nya weeh" (pronounced near way) shelter means "My House, My Home" and is a safe place designed to offer encouragement and hope.
Donations are critical to the success of this venture. The following items are needed on an ongoing basis: bedding, towels, and personal care items (e.g., hair care, deodorant, toothpaste, etc).
