The Family Enrichment Center Wins WEDU Inaugural Award
The Be More … Encouraged Judge’s Choice Award is the first of its kind
Tampa , Fla. (January 19, 2007) – The Family Enrichment Center was named the inaugural recipient of WEDU’s Be More … Encouraged Judge’s Choice Award yesterday, during the 2007 WEDU Be More Awards™ ceremony, held at the A La Carte Event Pavilion. This award, which was decided exclusively by a majority vote among the WEDU Be More Awards TM panel of judges, was created in recognition of the organization’s impact on the community.
“To be selected as the first-ever recipient of such a prestigious award is a great honor,” said Olga S. Stirrup, FEC Executive Director. “It is further confirmation that our organization is indeed making a difference in the Tampa Bay community and we’re looking forward to continuing our mission of creating and maintaining healthy, stable families.”
Over the past 15 years, The Family Enrichment Center has touched the lived of more than 4,000 vulnerable children and families in crisis. The agency currently manages over 100 foster homes throughout Hillsborough County and provides a safe and nurturing environment for children from a variety of ethnic backgrounds.

Founded by the College Hill Church of God In Christ in 1992, the mission of The Family Enrichment Center is to address the social service and family support needs of vulnerable children. Steadfast in the belief that all children have the right to a permanent, caring family, the organization works diligently on a daily basis to help children live in stable families and communities.
